Black Maternal Health Week 2025

Black Women’s Health: A Legacy of Strength — Empowering Voices for Change

This year's Black Maternal Health Week was a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and brilliance that Black women continue to embody. Our event, "Black Women’s Health: A Legacy of Strength; Empowering Voices for Change," was nothing short of extraordinary.

We came together as a community — to listen, to speak truth, and to affirm one another in spaces where our experiences are often overlooked. From heartfelt stories to powerful dialogue, we made space for healing, accountability, and hope.

🟣 We gathered. We shared. We uplifted.
These conversations are not only important—they are essential. They shape the future of Black maternal health and ensure our voices remain at the center of the movement.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, spoke truth to power, and stood in solidarity.

Together, we’re rewriting the narrative. Together, we’re creating change.

AMPLIFY VOICES

Centering Black Women. Changing the Narrative.

Black women have always had stories to tell—powerful, painful, and full of possibility. The Amplify Voices of Black Pregnant and Postpartum Women project was born to create space for those stories to be heard.

Through powerful listening sessions and focus groups, we heard from Black mothers across our community who courageously shared their experiences with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. What we heard was deeply moving and deeply urgent. Their stories revealed gaps in care, systemic biases, and the critical need for culturally respectful and responsive healthcare.
